Recently, core leader of United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) and party list MP of Pheu Thai party Jatuporn Prompan who left the stage at Imperial World, Ladprao, for long time, has issued red-shirt movement mission for the constitutional amendment.
“Dr. Weng Tojirakarn has proposed to revive the 1997 constitution and it has been pending for two years and has not been approved, although at that time it was Samak Sundaravej-led government that was from People’s Power party. During the no-confidence debate, MPs of the coalition government might be threatened to withdraw. Also, we do not refuse the proposal from the jurists or Ukrit Mongkolnavin to set up a drafting committee. It is certain that this committee will be forced to withdraw by the group that drafted 2007 constitution. Therefore, the democratic constitution should be from Thai people only.”
Mr. Jatuporn is a part of Pheu Thai party. Why he does not push in the name of the party and ask for the clearness from the government as it was announced as the government policy in the parliament but he has decided to have a movement during the time that government has to urge its operation after the cabinet reshuffle.
Mr. Jatuporn said that from now on, he will have more seminars and campaigns.
“The massive rally of the red shirts will be held on February 19 at Bonanza Khao Yai. It is expected to have one million red shirts to announce the clear intention to amend the 2007 constitution.”
The government has called on for the reconciliation but the movement of Mr. Jatuporn seems to be in the opposite direction.
Apart from that, it seems to have hidden agenda to gain interest from the media.
Whether it is to pave the way before the Court will announce the effective of the MP qualification?
He seems to keep low profile for long time. Why he has planned to have a movement during this time?
