The opposition Puea Thai party said that it plans to lay out the strategy for the next general election which is expected to be held very soon.
In preparation for the general election as well as a bid to prevent further outflow of the Northeastern MPs, the party is preparing to have a meeting of Puea Thai northeastern MPs and key party members like former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra’s sister Yaowapa Wongsawat and her husband Somchai Wongsawat, according to Paijit Sriworakhan, a Puea Thai MP for Nakhon Phanom.
From September, the opposition party expects to hold seminar projects participated by core Puea Thai MPs, MP candidates. Each MP or MP candidate is assigned to train core leaders of local communities. An individual MP or candidate is expected to be in charge of 3,000 core leaders.
Mr Paijit added that the party would also set up a new administrative committee consisting of 30 members which to be selected from MPs in each region, representatives of executive members, and the advisory team. The soon-to-be formed administrative body will be in charge of a wide range of work including overseeing all administration work in the party, dealing with parliament, media, and selection of MP candidates.
