Sondhi Limthongkul, a People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) leader, has warned of possible violence in the next 1-2 months, while saying that Bhumjaithai’s de facto leader Newin Chidchob may become the next assassination target.
Mr. Sondhi said the insiders who are close to the military and police should have learned of the intelligence report that there will be attempts to create violence in the next 1-2 months.
He said there are several factors contributing to this violence, which are the military reshuffle and the government budget that has been passed recently, allowing the government to dissolve the parliament to hold a new election.
Mr. Sondhi also said that the Bhumjaithai Party has placed its personnel in various positions in the Ministry of Interior in preparation for the election, and Mr. Newin may become the top assassination target due to the various conflicts between him and former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra.
