Following an explosion outside the National Broadcasting Service (NBT) office on Vibhavadi Rangsit road, Panithan Wattanayagorn, PM's deputy secretary-general and acting government spokesman, said intensified political movements are likely to be seen during September-October which are considered symbolic months for key political events in Thai history. He said possible violence may be provoked by some radical elements who do not want to see the country to return to peace.
Meanwhile, he admitted that some powerful figures living in exile overseas may still play a role in the political movement.
Responding to Puea Thai Party chairman Gen Chavalit Yongchaiyudh’s claim that there would be a big political change at the end of the year, Mr Panithan said political change was a normal feature of the Democratic system and it could be expected as the country is expecting to go through the general election.
He confirmed that the general election is likely to be held next year once the government’s tenure ends.
