Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva has expressed his view that the red shirts’ ultimate goal is change at the national level, not just house dissolution.

He said the evidence could be seen from the anti-government red shirts’ choice to withdraw support for charter amendments at the last minute when the government agreed on the matter.

“People who joined the rally are wrongly persuaded as they think they are fighting for democracy and justice while those plotting the movement did not expect to achieve these things,” Mr. Abhisit said, adding that the red shirt core leaders may only want to achieve chaotic results at the end.
