The planned rally of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) is set to lay siege to the key Government House building similar to the pro-government protestors – People’s Alliance for Democracy, which had laid siege to the key building for more months ahead of the fall of the government that was lead by the MPs currently in the opposition.
The UDD’s protestors are likely to lay siege to government house on March 14 to prevent a cabinet meeting from taking place, a source from an intelligence agency stated.
According to the report, there will be a “third hand” which will try to instigate violence while the red shirt leaders will continue to make a stance to keep on rallying for at least 7 days, despite knowing they are unlikely to achieve their goal in this operation on March 12.
The red shirt gathering on March 12 is to show their strength before they call off the rally and convene again on March 14 when the red shirts intend to prolong their rally.
However, less number of supporters is expected to join the upcoming red shirt rallies as it involves traveling expenses. Meanwhile, the source said it was unlikely that the supporters from the blue camp would turn up during the red shirt rallies.
