The government’s stance on the constitutional amendment is to amend Article 291 in order to set up the Constitution Drafting Assembly to propose the charter draft which is expected to be submitted in February 2012 for the parliament’s deliberation, said Pheu Thai MP for Nonthaburi province Udomdej Rattanasathien, as government chief whip.
Meanwhile, Pheu Thai MP for Lamphun province Sa-nguan Pongmanee is scheduled to propose a charter draft of the public sector on February 1, 2012. After being proved for the back-up signatures, the draft is expected to be deliberated in March 2012.
Mr. Udomdej said that apart from the charter draft of the public sector, expectedly there will be a draft of Pheu Thai Party’s MPs, one of Chart Thai Pattana Party, one of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD), and perhaps one of the government which is waiting to collect opinions from all sides.
