The opposition Puea Thai party has come out to say that it was looking at ways to participate in the much talked about reconciliation plans of the country and therefore was looking at proposing a meeting of all sides to hammer out ways to bring back the country to peace and prosperity.
Plodprasop Surasawadi, a deputy leader of the opposition Puea Thai Party, said the party has proposed ‘peace talks’ to the government, summoning all sides to hold talks to find way of solving long-standing political conflict in the country.
Under the proposal, Mr Plodprsop said, all involved parties including the government and various groups that are in serious conflict should meet to settle their differences so that the country will return to peace and harmony. More importantly, Mr Plodprasop stressed that involved parties must participate in negotiations to resolve conflict in the society. Therefore, Puea Thai suggests all parties to abstain from using violent actions or remarks or impartial law enforcement.
“This statement issued by the party is to find a more amicable settlement with the government while this offer should be regarded as an ultimatum from us, rather than a political game. We are very concerned with the current situation with more and more conflicts being developed. If there is still no response from the government, all will have to go their own way," the Puea Thai deputy leader said.
