These days M79 bomb attacks are conducted frequently without concern about the emergency decree.
In less than two months, the explosions happened in Bangkok at least three times, especially at King Power department store in Soi Rang Nam, which was attacked two times.
Two days ago, M79 has just been fired at National Broadcasting Services of Thailand (NBT) Office in the day light.
After the incidents, there are many criticisms and assessments. Suthep Thaugsuban, Deputy Prime Minister for Security Affairs and head of the Centre for the Resolution of Emergency Situations (CRES), orders officers to monitor risky areas, claiming that berserkers might cause chaos in many places including state-run and private media.
Mr. Suthep confirmed that CRES has the name list of those berserkers on hand. And if the police forces are not sufficient, the military forces will be deployed in various places, he said.
In this society, lives, assets and safety seem to be hanging by a thread.
Regarding the analysis of senior politicians, bombings clearly target to discredit the government.
The target of the M79 shooting is to specify that “I don’t like you”.
Why King Power? Today, it could be seen that King Power has a strong relationship with the ‘extremely powerful figure’ of Bhumjai Thai party.
Therefore, the incident at King Power could link to individual matter, especially on that Bhumjai Thai figure who are luring MPs from other parties.
It is certain that now the opposition is in bad situation and feels angry. And now Bhumjai Thai looks more arrogant due to its ability to attract more MPs nearly every week.
Apart from that, the anger may come from the provincial governor reshuffle and police reshuffle which linked to Buriram football club mainly sponsored by King Power.
As for the blast at NBT, which is the state-run media, could be imply that the government is also the enemy.
Political veterans analyzed that M79 bombers has very clear targets.
The more MPs Bhumjai Thai party could draw from the opposition, the more chance that government could survive. And Bhumjai Thai will have more negotiation power over Democrat party as well.
The no-confidence debate at the beginning of next year seemed not to have any significance as the government would have sufficient votes.
Meanwhile, other coalition parties want to join with this government as long as possible and none of them want to see the election soon because they currently enjoy spending money on various projects.
