The National Housing Authority (NHA), makes progress on second low-cost housing project, planning to increase prices of houses in areas that are not flooded by 10 percent.
Vitoon Jiasakulนายวิฑูรย์ เจียสกุล, Governor of the NHA, said the NHA is studying possibility of conducting the residence project for low income people. The project is similar to low-cost housing project (Baan-Ur-Ar-Thorn) and according to Social Development and Human Security Minister’s policy.
The NHA is studying how many units should be additionally built, where locations should be, and demand of each location.
However, such new project will not use the name “Baan-Ur-Ar-Thorn” once again and conduction must be transparent and can be examined. Locations without demand will not be selected to conduct the project so that fake demand can never happen as the first phase of Baan-Ur-Ar-Thorn because the NHA has had experience.
At present, about 20,000 units of Baan-Ur-Ar-Thorn are being constructed and the NHA will try to finish the project within 2013 and prices may be increased according to costs and locations this year, especially areas that are not flooded and have good feedback where prices may be increased by 10 percent.
