An informed source at Thai Airways International Plc. (THAI) said that THAI president Piyasawat Amaranand together with others concerned with human resource department has asked for the board’s approval on implementing two main plans of human resource management.

The first one is to establish Win Span Co., Ltd to deal with outsourcing. Now, more than 20 subcontract companies provide employees to THAI and most of them belong to business units including cargo and mail, catering, airplane gate service, landing service in passenger terminals, aircraft maintenance center, and public relation department. At present, the number of outsourced employees accounts for more than a half of the total number of employees.

The other is to enroll early retired employees. Now, 800-1,000 employees in middle executive level whose working years are about 10 years and above with salary of 60,000 Baht are seeking enrollment. However, the quota is available for only 500 workers.

Those who seek early retirement reason that they are not sure whether their working future will be stable because in the past 3-5 years THAI administration has been fluctuating due to changes of the organization’s leaders and the severest politicking inside the company.
