Revenue Department says tax collection is better and would be above the target by 10%

The Revenue Department disclosed to the tax collection of August 2010 that the department can collect tax above the target highly from the interim juristic tax and value added tax that have grown continuously.
Vinai Vittavasgarnvej, the director-general of the Revenue Dept. said that the tax collection of the ten-month of 2010 fiscal year from October 2009 – August 2010 was above the target by 10% at the moment.
He expected that the collection of September this year, which is the last month of 2010 fiscal year, would still be above the target because the interim personal tax collection would affect to the entire collection of 2010 fiscal year to be above 1.18 trillion Baht or a rise of about 10%.
He said the department is considering increasing cutting fee for insurances from not exceeding 100,000 Baht to be 200,000 Baht, which would push people to save their money more and then they will have money to pay and shopping, which can boost the economy.
